Trip Leader

Christian Woelfel

Christian Woelfel is a Trip Leader for Loop Abroad's Veterinary Service programs.

Christian earned his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from the College of the Holy Cross in 2011. He still holds a special interest for environmental issues as he pursues his degree in veterinary medicine. Currently he is heading into his third year of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. At Tufts, he is a large animal anatomy tutor and the vice president of the Veterinary Business Management Association.

Christian works as an emergency room technician at Tufts and is a student on-call surgery technician at Tufts Foster Hospital for Small Animals.

Coming from the parents of two teachers, Christian always had special interest in teaching. As an undergraduate, he dedicated a large portion of time to a program in which college students would tutor high schoolers who were political refugees from African countries. Since then, he has enjoyed any fusion between veterinary medicine and teaching, as evidenced by his participation in a veterinary enrichment elective for local middle school students.

Traveling has always been a curiosity for Christian, and after his undergraduate years he was able to backpack Europe with his brother, traveling to 15 different countries. He continues to travel around the States, often in search of new places to hike, kayak, or ski. While back at home, Christian enjoys soccer and spending time with his two dogs.
