Jordan Carbary

Jordan is originally from Van Buren, AR. She moved to Fayetteville, AR to complete her Bachelors of Biological Engineering at the University of Arkansas- Go Razorbacks!

From there, she went on to the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ to complete her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, focusing in Biomedical Imaging and Optics. She is now in Gainesville, FL working on her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine to become a Veterinarian! She lives there with her husband and their 3 Australian Shepherds, 3 cats, and a pig.

During her graduate studies, Jordan had the privilege of mentoring several undergraduate and high school students in research. She also taught high school math for a program designed to bring real world applications of science and math into the classroom. Jordan has a passion for mentorship and teaching, which she is excited to share with her group in Thailand! In her spare time, she enjoys playing her cello and clarinet, reading books, visiting the beach and spending the day in Disney World, especially the Animal Kingdom.

Jordan’s love of travel began during her first trip out of the country at 18 to Germany, where she met her husband! Since then, she has traveled all over the world, including Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, China, South Korea, and throughout the Caribbean Islands.
