Hailie Huggins

Hailie was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, the city known for the Masters Golf Tournament. She is a recent graduate from the University of Georgia — Go Dawgs! She majored in Animal Science with an emphasis in Animal Biology and minored in Avian Biology.

While in Athens, she worked for the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital where she learned about instrumentation and sterilization for surgical procedures. Hailie participated in a number intramural teams; she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, Block and Bridle Club, Rodeo Committee, and Poultry Science Club. She was also a member of the University’s Large Animal Emergency Critical Care Team. In the fall, Hailie plans to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts.

During her summers, Hailie loves to travel. She has ventured to many countries including the Bahamas, Aruba, Mexico, Ireland, and of course Thailand. She is an active member of her church and a strong supporter of Happening, a biannual high school retreat led by youth. Hailie led as rector of Happening 91. She still participates in frequent weekend retreats. In her free time, Hailie enjoys hiking, white water rafting, snow skiing, running half marathons, and relaxing with family and friends at the beach. She also enjoys spending time with her spunky Portuguese Water Dog, Phoebe.

Hailie attended Loop Abroad’s College Veterinary Service in Thailand last summer. She fell in love with the culture and the people of Chiang Mai. She is absolutely thrilled to be going back to her favorite place with her favorite animals, and she cannot wait to share this experience with her group in just a few short weeks!
