Trip Leader

Kennedy Resendiz

Kennedy was born and grew up in Crookston, Minnesota, a small town that is about as far north as you can go in Minnesota. Her town is known for the cold winter weather. She will graduate in the Fall of 2018 from the University of Minnesota Crookston majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis in Pre-Veterinary medicine and a minor in Equine Science. She hopes to start veterinary school during the fall 2019 semester.

During the school year Kennedy is involved with the pre-veterinary club. She will be vice-president of the study abroad club for the 2017-2018 academic year. She also just recently received a position as a student orientation staff leader for the incoming freshmen. Working in the University barns is where you will find her between all the extra-curricular activities. She absolutely loves the spring time, as this is the time all the new calves and lambs arrive at her university. She also is a member of the University's honor program.

During her free time, Kennedy spends her days outside. She loves riding her horses, walking her dogs, cat-fishing alongside the river, and training for her first marathon. Her favorite activity however, is to just spend time at her hobby farm, especially with her 500lb pig Olivia.

Kennedy has gone on two study abroad trips. She travelled to France in the spring of 2016 with the University of Minnesota Crookston and participated in the Fall 2016 Loop Abroad Veterinary Semester, a 14-week pre-veterinary study abroad throughout Thailand. She fell in love with Thailand and cannot wait to go back. She is beyond excited to be able to join the Loop Abroad team again this summer and cannot wait to share this amazing experience with her group.
